AROMATHERAPY: CHAKRA BLENDS
Essential oils are the "life force of the plant."
A plant produces essential oils to protect itself, to influence
growth, for reproduction, to attract pollinating insects, to repel
predators, ant to protect itself from disease. Humans have been
using essential oils to heal the body and soul for centuries. The
Chakra system of the body is part of the energy system of the body.
You will learn about the seven Chakras and their related illnesses
when they are out of balance.During this one day seminar, you will
learn which single oils and blends have the most powerful effect
on the Chakra system to bring change and healing to the mental,
physical and spritual being. All materials to create the appropriate
blends, including recipes, essential oils, containers, handouts
and manual are included in the tuition cost.

ailments and disease patterns. You will learn what essential oils
are best to address the needs of your clients according to which
personality profile they fall into. Because the energy system of
the body is evaluated, this course could be considered a companion
course to the Aromatherapy Chakra class. All materials to create
the appropriate blends, including recipes, essential oils, containers,
handouts and manual are included in the tuition cost.

CARING FOR CLIENTS WITH CANCER:
SIMPLE STEPS TO SAFE, EFFECTIVE MASSAGE THERAPY
This intensive course combines the art and science of touch to
create safe, effective massage sessions for clients with cancer,
in cancer treatment and with cancer histories. We examine and refute
the long-held contraindication to massage, then draw on current
research findings to strengthen the role of touch for people with
cancer. Participants learn to take a solid health history from a
client with cancer, to identify key information from it to follow
up on, and to use various strategies to involve a clients
medical staff in the decision-making. We explore common cancer therapies
and describe concrete massage adjustments (contraindications and
indication) for each. A balanced approach to learning includes lecture,
spirited discussion, use of research literature, a comprehensive
course manual, and hands-on work with volunteer clients in a clinic
setting.

CRANIAL SOMATIC FASCIA RELEASE
It is the purpose of this seminar to introduce and practice therapeutic
applications that will help the therapist accomplish related clinical
objectives. The course includes the treatment protocol known as
Cranial Sacral Therapy. There are many pulses that are important
to the thorough body worker. We are generally aware of the cardiac
pulse and somewhat aware of the respiratory pulse and its effects.
A third pulse, the cranial-sacral pulse, has been successfully studied
and treated by various therapies over the years. As massage therapists
we can use this pulse to help us understand more about our clients
and format a treatment program that will be beneficial.
The cranial-sacral pulse actually moves the entire body in an orderly
rhythm six to ten times a minute. Numerous musculoskeletal problems
can be caused or exacerbated by its dysfunction. In addition, musculoskeletal
problems, by affecting the cranial-sacral pulse, can cause disruptions
in other body systems regulated by or related to the cranial-sacral
pulse.
Audience: Licensed massage therapists or students training
in massage therapy, physical and occupational therapists.
Presenter: Earle Timberlake, RMT, is one of the few AMTA
Approved Continuing Educators. He has taught at the Central Ohio

GERIATRIC MASSAGE I
This course is a 2 1/2 day workshop designed for those individuals
who have a heart for the aging and the elderly. The participant

more than "just working lightly" with an elderly person.
In this course, client assessment, cautions and contraindications
are emphasized, as well as modifications of standard techniques
and client positioning. By helping participants to gain insight
into meaningful work with the elderly, the therapist who likes to
work with seniors is put on the path to a massage career that is
emotionally satisfying and financially promising without being physically
demanding.

solidify application of material learned during lecture. At the
end of the workshop, participants will be able to plan and implement
a comprehensive treatment and home care program for clients taking
medications for pain and inflammation. Although generally intended
for licensed therapists specializing in Geriatric Massage, this
course is a must for all licensed therapists!

ORTHO-BIONOMY
Ortho-Bionomy is a refinement of an Osteopathic technique called
"Functional Release by Positioning," developed by Lawrence
Jones, D.O. in the 1960's. It consists of a system of slowly performed
repositioning of joints and muscles, with respiratory assistance,
that acts very subtly to induce spontaneous correct repositioning
of the joints/muscles. The technique is painless, simple to learn
and has no contraindications if applied correctly. Ortho-Spine includes
all spinal, pelvic and related muscle systems. Special emphasis
is on sacroiliac problems. Muscles and ligaments that control joint
motion or fixation are relaxed so that the inherent self-corrective
reflexes can be reestablished.
The text, Ortho Bionomy®: A Practical Manual, by Kathy
L. Kain is required.
Audience: Licensed massage therapists or students training
in massage therapy, nurses, physical or occupational therapists,
chiropractors.
Presenter: Dr. Alan Saxon, B.S., D.C., has been practicing
Classical Homeopathy for over 24 years, is a Certified Advanced
Instructor in both Ortho~Bionomy and Sacro-Occipital Technique,

26 years. He is the author of two standard textbooks on Chiropractic
technique. Dr. Saxon is approved by the National Certification
Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing
education provider under Category A.

Polarity Therapy
Polarity therapy is a wholistic system of health care developed
by Dr. Randolph Stone, D.O.,D.C. Determined to find the missing
piece, he spent fifty years searching out and studying medical
practices, healing techniques, exercise systems, and health related
philosophies in a variety of cultures. The “missing piece,” he
discovered, was an awareness of energy in the body. Most traditional
forms of medicine focus on a subtle bio-energy system as the underlying
foundation of health. Dr. Stone created Polarity Therapy by synthesizing
essential components of Chinese, Ayurvedic, yoga, and Western medicine.
He chose “Polarity” to express the fundamental idea
that energy moves in predictable patterns between positive and
negative poles through a neutral field, and that this movement
of energy forms the underlying basis for life as we know it.
Audience: Licensed massage therapists or students training in
massage therapy, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists,
or anyone interested in health and healing.
Presenter: Randall Gibson, M.Ed., LMT., RPP. A Licensed Massotherapist

healing art which accelerates the bodys ability to heal physical
ailments and provides a means of accessing and focusing this energy
for personal well-being and growth. Reiki is a very powerful healing
tool in itself; in addition, however, it automatically flows through
one's own hands while doing any kind of touch therapy and enhances
the therapeutic effects of the healing work.

TOUCH FOR HEALTH KINESIOLOGY
Touch for Health Kinesiology® (TFHK) is a dynamic synthesis
of Eastern and Western approaches to working with the body, which
can help us reach our goals in health, performance, work, and relationships.
It uses manual muscle testing as a way to discover and locate energetic
blockages, injuries and problems of all kinds. Imagine using simple
muscle tests to ask your clients body what it needs. Where
is the real problem? How can I most easily correct it? Now imagine
you could give your client a tune-up that addresses the major acupuncture
meridians and related organs, emotional issues, posture, muscle
tone, nutrition, and nervous system functioning. At the end of the
session, you will also want to teach the client some simple methods
to relieve pain, a technique to release emotional stress, and an
exercise to improve concentration, coordination and balance. Sound
like a worthwhile set of skills? Youll be practicing them
after the first weekend!
The textbook, Touch for Health, by John Thie, D.C., is required.
Audience: Licensed massage therapists or students training
in massage therapy, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists,
or anyone interested in health and healing.
